DDHF is Committed to Supporting Families Affected by Autism
To mark Autism Awareness month, the Dailonna Dozier Help Foundation hosted a webinar specifically for parents of children with autism. The guest speaker was Mr. Tefera Alemayehu, the founder and CEO of the Center for Family Service Organization (CFSO) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and the Network of Family Service Professionals Inc. (NFSP) in the United States.
During the webinar, Mr. Alemayehu shared valuable insights on understanding autism and offered guidance on parenting a child on the autism spectrum. He stressed the importance of obtaining a diagnosis, maintaining a positive outlook, seeking support for the child, and practicing self-care for the parents.
The highlight of the evening was hearing from the parents. Their stories about the joys and challenges of raising autistic children were enlightening and inspiring. Their courage, strength, and determination to ensure their children receive proper care is to be commended.
The Dailonna Dozier Help Foundation remains dedicated to extending further support to children and families affected by autism. We strongly believe that every child deserves the opportunity to lead a healthy, happy and fulfilling life.
